Fan mail!
Well, they said it would never happen, but today, for the very first
time
. . . I started receiving fan mail.
People I don't know, from different parts of the world, just dropping
me an e-mail to tell me how much they enjoyed "Revelations"
and my performance in it. I'm not sure how to feel about this but I'm
trying to express my gratitude and humility in the face of all this
attention. I honestly thought Gina would be the main draw for this kind
of thing. I guess I'm just a little surprised to be getting any. It's
a nice surprise though and very much appreciated.

Is Shane Felux the next George Lucas?
Well, that's what Peter Nowak of the New Zealand Herald thinks. Here's
the latest article.
I just spoke to Shane and he says he's been busy doing two or three
interviews a day. He says he doesn't even ask who they are for anymore.
He also says the movie is huge in Germany and in other various locations
around the world. There is even a rumor of a possible screening at a
certain notable special effects house where Shane may be invited to
come out and show the film in their private studio there. Hmmmm . .
.
Today, right now, that guy is huge. The movie itself has been downloaded
over 300,000 times that we know about directly, and who knows how many
times from the more fleeting mirror sites like mine. Millions of people
all over the planet are watching our movie.

Still more "Revelations" in the news.
Here are a couple of quick links to folks who are talking about us.
The Can Magazine canmag.com
has a very positive review here.
C-Net gives us an honorable mention of sorts here.
And C-Net has another here.
Kentucky.com has an article
about the film and local 328
Studios.
As well as reprint of the Tish Wells - Knight Ridder article here.
NFHQ has a short review here.
And the hits just keep coming.
Still not sure where this wave is heading, but man, what a ride.
I had to totally remove the quick time file of the movie from my site
altogether because people were apparently just going to the Google
cached version of my page and finding the link there and burning through
my bandwidth like a lightsaber cutting through butter.
Now about that picture. . .
Isn't that some picture?
I love that picture.
Gina looks like her face isn't big enough for her smile.
It reminds me of quote from Atlas Shrugged;
"And to such among you who hate the thought of human joy, who wish
to see men's life as chronic suffering and failure, who wish men to
apologize for happiness -- or for success, or ability, or achievement,
or wealth -- to such among you, I am now saying: I wanted him, I had
him, I was happy, I had known joy, a pure, full, guiltless joy..."
To me, that's how Gina looks in that picture.
Thank you Shane and crew for giving us this moment.
Thank you Tish for taking this picture.
Thank you Gina . . . just for being.

George Lucas announces new Star Wars
Television Series!
Well good, finally. I mean there have been five
Star Trek television series' and not one serious, live action, Star Wars
series. Why not?
So, let's see what we have here, he says it will have original characters
(good, good we like stories about other Jedi.)
Almost no characters from episodes I through III, (uh
huh, sounds good.) And it will take place between Episodes
III and IV and . . . (HEY! Wait a minute! This
is starting to sound a little too familiar!!!)
The central story will revolve around the destruction of the Jedi Temple
and a lost artifact?!!!
(Okay I made that last part up . . . but still.
One has to wonder why he didn't pick up the story right after Return of
the Jedi. With the Jedi coming back into power and the galaxy wide open
for new adventures aplenty. Hmmmmm.
Still if there is to be a new series, I'll certainly be watching.
Also I know a good director and some kickass CG guys with just the right
kind of experience for such a project, not to mention a couple of actors
looking for a break.)

Where can you go to see Revelations?
Here is the main mirror site hosted by the brilliant and wonderful
ZAP.
http://revelations.master-zap.com
Zap also tell us that "2000 DVD's has been downloaded so
far (disk #1) and over 21 Terabytes of revelations data has been shuffled
around the net. "
GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING!!!
WE ARE HUGE!!!!!
Also while you are there check out the video's from the premiere weekend.
Fun stuff.
Thanks ZAP!

Pulling my 1 QT link due to bandwidth overages.
Well that was fun, but I'm topped out. What can I say, I'm really just
small potatoes over here and I can't take the bandwidth demands.

Thanks for the support IFILM!

Ok, here it is. My single QT version of the movie. The let bandwidth spike
begin!
STAR WARS:
Revelations
*Discontinued*
April 21, 2005
WTF!
Revelations has just been dropped by theforce.net! They claim it's taking
too much of their bandwidth?! Now I probably should have expected this
and predicted it, but I didn't. What I have been saying all along was
that Revelations would take fan films from a little known art form and
push it into the mainstream. Now, a scant five days after the premiere,
I think that has just happened. When a site dedicated to Star Wars in
general and Star Wars fan films in particular, and hosting Star Wars
fan films, and sharing information about Star Wars fan films says 'sorry
but you're just to popular for us' that's got to say something.
I can host maybe one QT version of the film from here, I think, if I
can still get to the file somehow. Check back in a bit.

New "Revelations" story
on C-NET
Interesting article
mostly about Shane and how popular the download of the movie is becoming.
People are really going nuts trying to get to see it and that's good.
I'd also like to thank everyone who sent us letters of support telling
us not to pay attention to the more mean spirited, ill informed and
in some cases childish criticism some have unlashed against us. We appreciate
your support.
For my part I'm not really sure where all this is heading but so far
it's been one hell of a ride!
Here is a story:
At the premiere, I was standing outside the hotel waiting for a cab
with Gina and a couple of friends. As we stood there we were approached
by another couple asking is we were with Panic Struck. We laughed and
said we were, and they introduced themselves as Sonia Hillios and her
husband Chris! Let me tell you something, rarely have I ever met nicer
folks. Instantly we were joking and laughing about what a great job
she did on the poster and Gina commented on the detail on my hands.
Sonia's husband laughed and showed us his hands and . . . they were
just like mine. He also told us he had been a model for Sonia for characters
like Captain Picard among others. That's impressive company to be in,
let me tell you. As I say though, what struck me most was how nice they
were. It was like meeting old friends, for the first time.

Want to see the movie?
Watch it here via theforce.net (Discontinued!!!)
or
check out the Mirror
pool via theforce.net
I can't seem to get the whole mirror thing working, so forget it.
Lot's of other people are hosting it.
Man, I just watched most of the behind the scenes stuff and that was
really great. Big shout out to Jack and Shane for that. The "Revelations"
site itself is back up now that the movie is being hosted elsewhere.
Thanks everyone.

Sun Revelations Review
A really good article by John Coffren who calls my performance as Declan
"grand".
There really is just too much to tell here. The Premiere went off, if
not smoothly, at least successfully as seen from the outside. There
was a lot more drama behind the scenes than there was on the screen,
to tell the truth, but we pulled it off. There really is too much to
tell, but we'll cover it all here in the days to come.
Now . . . how the hell do I activate my mirror???
Zap's mirror seems to be up and working here.
Watch the movie over at TFN here. *Discontunued*

REVELATIONS REVIEW
RELEASED EARLY
The word is out. Knight Ridder has released the very first review. Shane,
Gina and I are now, officially, "smooth" performers.
It's like smooth criminal only without the crime or alleged child molestation.
The review itself is very positive and, although I hear that it was
released early, it does not contain any real spoilers.
Go check it out here.
My excitement level just went right through the roof! Strangest of all,
as I have said before, is that all of this is happening prior to the
general release of the film itself. If you think this is something,
wait until you actually see the movie. Then we should see some real
excitement!
Thanks again Tish!

I'm a Space Cowboy, baby!
Presented here, with very little comment, is a sample of composite work
of Greg from
Forward Motion Productions.
In other "Revelations" news . . .
um . . . we're on the cover of a magazine!!!
Well one of two covers really, but that's cool!
There is certainly no disgrace in sharing with Grayson!
I loved that preview!!!
Details from the main "Revelations" Site:
Go behind-the-scenes on Star Wars Revelations in
the premiere issue of Online Entertainment Magazine, the only print publication
devoted exclusively to the world of fan films.

In other news I just can't win for losing, between problems at work,
(I actually ended up sleeping there Friday night and working straight
through the weekend) I haven't had time to even catch my breath, let
alone get excited for the premiere - but I am looking forward to it.
Gina on the other hand is just beside herself with excitement. We're
also having some of the wood floors refinished at the house, so late
last night, with the help of a good friend, we moved stuff out of the
way and then I went into the crawl space to pull some wires out of the
way. They had been run through a hole in the floor which is being repaired,
but I plan to rerun them more properly through the wall after this is
all done. Anyway I get under there and I notice that the ground is wet
in one spot. I find a leaking cut off valve for the front outside hose.
It's not leaking too bad . . . until I touch it, then it totally disintegrates
and starts spraying everywhere.
Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!
So what to do?
Turn off the water to the whole house.
Pull down the wires.
Wash hands with bottled water and go to bed.
Get up first thing and dress in last nights clothes.
Drive to local hardware outlet.
Look for replacement part.
Discover they only sell entire valve which is already sweated into place
thank you very much.
Buy entire valve with plan to removed needed part and replace it in
the aforementioned waiting valve.
Get home discover the bolt head I need to grab with a wrench is very
slightly, but deliberately, pre-stripped to prevent me from doing exactly
what I'm trying to do.
Spend two full minutes cursing and swearing at a level that would embarrass
the most vice ridden prostitute.
Find vice grips.
No the BIG VICE GRIPS!
Apply a little of the old brute force mojo.
Adjust part to my needs.
Install part.
Over-tighten faucet head nut. ( Forgot to turn off the old brute force
mojo I guess.)
Fix the valve so that it doesn't leak (at least in the closed position.
No one needs to use the front outside hose before we get back and who
the hell designed this cheap ass faucet head assembly anyway?)
And then . . .
Finally . . . .
Take a shower and head to WORK!
On the other hand at least I caught and stopped the problem before
the floors were redone and we were in Maryland. The valve was clearly
going to go any second anyway so hopefully it will have all worked out
for the best. Just a matter of how you look at it, I guess.
How about that magazine cover though?
That's pretty cool!

"Revelations" Poster Revealed
From the Revelations site:
"The stunning art for the "Revelations" poster is
an original piece that was done by Sonia
R. Hillios who is an award-winning painter and illustrator of science
fiction and fantasy and environmental subjects. Her work has been commissioned
by The Hamilton Collection, Pocket Books, DC Comics, Lucasfilm Ltd.,
Paramount Pictures, SkyBox International, Universal Studios, Twentieth
Century Fox, and many others.
Sonia's work is the result of a lifelong interest in science fiction
and in art.
We are thrilled and honored to have Sonia grace us with her work and
can not thank her enough for the enormous effort and detail that went
into making it for "Revelations" Thank you Sonia!!"
For my part all I can say is I LOVE THIS POSTER! Short of the movie
itself, this is the coolest thing ever. EVER! We're planning on hanging
it in our refinished living room. And to those who might say that such
a display is ostentatious, I say that's only because you don't have
one.
COOLEST THING EVER!
Holland as Raux.

I also hear that a Soundtrack CD in the works.
Also wait until you see the poster by Sonia

Trust me though once Sonia paints you in an action pose, you're
an action hero.
The poster is nothing short of stunning.

Our top story today:
The Dalai Lama is alive and well.
Later we'll look into the health of various Vedics, Clerics, Ayatollahs,
Pagan High Priest and Steven Hawking (for the more secular among us.)
What are you looking at? I'm just saying, if we're going to spend all
this time covering the Pope's death we should give some time to the
other guys. No Zoroastrians though! Screw those guys.

Ron Moore for President!
Mr. Moore stands up and defends Battlestar Galactica, the show's politics,
and his own, on the latest entry on his blog.
Here's a taste:
"In a time when the President of the United States actually
asserts that he has the power to arrest without warrant and detain indefinitely
without charge or appeal, any citizen (indeed any person on the face
of the Earth) simply by designating them as an "illegal combatant,"
we should all be engaged in a vigorous and energetic debate about who
we are as a people and as human beings and exactly how we do intend
to respond to the very real threat posed to this nation and to the foundations
of liberal democracy posed by people capable of, and willing to, fly
airplanes into buildings."
Go read
it. NOW!

Shane and Frank to Star in new CBS series
Some of you may remember this idea from last year, but little did you
know that Shane, Dawn and Sarah had been pitching the idea to CBS all

is slighted for a late season premier next year. More on this story as
it develops.
